Pearl Club Enugu
Who we are
Pearl Club is an initiative of Uzommiri Study Centre, which was set up with the primary aim of giving personalized all-round formation to young girls in their formative years. In addition to forging lasting friendships, the students who attend the Centre are taught to acquire excellent study habits such as discipline, order, perseverance, concern for others, e.t.c.
Target group:
The programme is open to school girls between the ages of 8- 17 years who are in primary school and those from JSS1 to SS3.
Participants are grouped into classes with facilitators attached to each group to guide them in
their study and in the completion of assignments.
Our Location:
Located in a serene and study-enabling environment, Uzommiri Study Centre is at 11A Igboeze
Street, off Rangers Avenue, Independence Layout, Enugu.
Opportunities:
The centre organizes other activities which participants of the study programme could take part
in. For instance, there is The Pearl Club which holds on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. It has a
leadership club for girls aged 10-16 years which focuses on study, cultural formation, culinary
skills, camps, excursions, crafts and a host of other interesting, educative and fun activities. A
holiday programme is organized yearly during the long vacation to keep the girls productively
engaged. Interested participants who are members of the leadership club will also receive
spiritual and doctrinal formation from the chaplain of the club. Participants will have access to
our library where they can use and borrow books which cover a wide range of topics and will
help deepen their knowledge as well as broaden their horizon.
